Harbor Health Systems Launches First MPN Program Offering Enhancements Contained in Recent California SB863 Legislation

Posted on 04.28.14

DENVER (April 28, 2014) – Harbor Health Systems, a One Call Care Management company, today announced the launch of Harbor One MPN, the first MPN (Medical Provider Network) program offering enhancements contained in recent California workers’ compensation SB863 legislation. New features include a Care Concierge℠ service connecting the best doctors, patients and top ancillary services, plus the oversight of all SB863 MPN regulatory and compliance issues.

“With the Harbor One MPN, all of our customers have to do is plug it in and start taking control of their California claims,” said Greg Moore, President of Harbor Health Systems. “Harbor One MPN combines our proprietary outcomes-driven physician network, connects it with our One Call ancillary solutions, and adds full MPN regulatory outsourcing. It’s the first program to leverage the latest California SB863 regulatory initiatives to deliver the benefits of an MPN while reducing the burden of compliance and administration.”

Before Harbor One MPN, workers’ compensation payers and self insured employers who wanted superior providers to care for their injured workers had to build their own customized MPN networks. Harbor One MPN is an immediately available network of high performing physicians covering the entire state of California. Through the program’s Care Concierge℠ service, these physicians and their patients are connected to top providers of ancillary services. Harbor’s OnTrack℠ service guides the patient’s MPN participation throughout the case to be sure the care plan is always on track and on time toward a fast and complete recovery.

“With the Harbor One MPN, many more payers and injured workers will benefit from better outcomes, lower overall costs and streamlined communication for what can be a very complicated, frustrated process,” noted Moore. Harbor Health Systems MPN client report cost savings of up to 20% with Harbor’s outcomes-based networks of high performing physicians and its proprietary scoring technology, as well as additional savings through reduced litigation and increased productivity.

Information on Harbor One MPN and other Harbor Health Systems services will be available at the One Call Care Management, RIMS booth 1439 or contact Greg Moore at (949) 273-7023, gmoore@harborsys.com
